Mobile welding is bringing the welding rig to the broken thing instead of hauling the broken thing to a shop. On farms and ranches that covers most of the work: gates and pipe fence, corral panels and working pens, trailer frames and floors, cracked buckets and loader brackets, cattle guards, feeders and guards. We work mobile across Jack, Palo Pinto, Young and Wise counties — we bring the rig to the work.
Sagging gates, torn-out hinges, broken latches, pipe fence somebody backed into. Almost always a same-visit fix, and almost never worth hauling anywhere.
Working pens take more abuse than anything else on a place. Bent rails, broken welds, sorting gates that no longer swing true.
Cracked buckets, broken loader brackets, implement frames and shredder decks. Often paired with the mechanical side on the same visit.
Frame cracks, rusted crossmembers, floor supports, ramps, fenders and hitch work — much of which is safer looked at before the next tow, not after.
A mobile rig is genuinely capable, and the great majority of ranch welding is better done where the thing sits than anywhere else. There are jobs, though, where working out in a pasture makes the result worse, and it is worth knowing which.
Anything that has to be held true. If a piece needs squaring, jigging or clamping to come out straight, doing it on the ground beside a tailgate is a compromise.
Anything that needs lifting. Heavy sections that must be rolled, flipped or supported while you weld want a hoist, not two people and hope.
Anything that will take more than a day. A partly disassembled machine sitting out in the weather is nobody's friend, particularly with rain coming.
Call and describe it. If it is one of those, we will say so and work out with you where and when it should be done properly — we would rather do that than a mediocre job of it in your pasture.
Usually hourly plus materials, with a call-out that reflects the drive. Well-defined work — a gate built to an opening, a set of panels repaired — can often be quoted as a job. Call with the details and we will tell you which way it prices better for you.

Carefully, and sometimes not at all. Welding throws sparks and dry grass in a North Texas August does not need much encouragement. We take precautions, and if conditions are genuinely dangerous we will reschedule rather than risk starting something.
Yes, and it is one of the more useful things about us — see equipment repair. A cracked bracket and a leaking cylinder on the same loader is one visit, not two contractors.
