What excavation work does Jacksboro Services do?
Footings and foundations, utility and water line trenches, stock tank and pond digs, culvert and driveway excavation, backfill and compaction, and haul-off. We work on rural property — ranches, homesites, barns, shops and small commercial sites — across Jack, Palo Pinto, Young and Wise counties. We do not perform electrical, plumbing or septic installation; we open the ground and a licensed professional makes the connections.
What we dig
Trenches
Water lines, electrical conduit, drain lines and irrigation — cut to depth, bedded, and backfilled clean. See conduit trenching.
Tanks & ponds
New stock tanks dug and shaped, and old silted tanks cleaned back to depth. More on pond construction.
Backfill & compaction
Backfilled in lifts and compacted, sloped away from the structure so you are not fighting water at the foundation later.
Haul-off
Spoil, rubble, old concrete and brush hauled off the property, or windrowed on-site if that is what you would rather.
Demolition cleanup
Old sheds, pens, slabs and fence taken down, loaded out, and the ground graded back flat behind it.
Questions people ask us
Do you handle the utility locate?
We will place the 811 request for the work we are doing. What we cannot know about are private lines that were run without records. Anything you can tell us about what is buried on the place helps a great deal.
How deep can you dig?
Deeper than most rural jobs need. Practically, the limit around here is rock rather than reach — Palo Pinto and western Jack County ground in particular can turn to limestone sooner than you would like. We will tell you what we hit and what it means for the price.
What if you hit rock?
It happens, and it is the most common reason an excavation job moves off its estimate. We flag the possibility up front where the ground looks likely, and if we hit it we stop and talk to you about options before we run up hours.
Do you do septic excavation?
We do not install septic systems. All septic work in this area goes to a licensed OSSF installer, who hold the Texas OSSF installer license. Here is how that works.
Can you work on small or tight sites?
Yes — that is what the Takeuchi track loaders are for. Between the excavator and the TL10 we can get into places a full-size machine cannot. See skid steer work.
